Infrastructural Baukultur est un projet de recherche mené par les laboratoires ALICE (EPFL) et OUVEMA (UNIL), en partenariat avec l’Ouest Lausannois. Cette recherche porte sur la redéfinition des routes cantonales en infrastructures multimodales et paysagères – des espaces publics inclusifs encourageant les interactions sociales et écologiques, ainsi que la mobilité douce. La recherche se concentre actuellement sur l’avenue du Tir-Fédéral et sur la route cantonale reliant Saint-Sulpice à la Bourdonnette.
Cette recherche s’articule autour d’un processus contributif au cours duquel chercheur.euse.s, professionnel.le.s et habitant.e.s sont invités à partager leurs savoirs et expériences. Nous sommes à la recherche de citoyen.ne.s motivé.e.s à prendre part à ce processus sous la forme d’entretiens-promenade (date à choix), pour partager vos expériences vécues. Par la suite, une série d’ateliers (mars 2026), seront organisés pour esquisser collectivement des pistes de projet.

Nos ateliers participatifs s’inscrivent dans une démarche de co-conception développée par le laboratoire ALICE depuis 2012. Cette démarche repose sur un processus contributif au cours duquel une diversité d’acteurs partage leurs savoirs, pratiques et expériences.
En participant à ces ateliers, les personnes présentes co-contribuent activement à la recherche en mobilisant leurs divers savoirs locaux. Le développement collectif de ces connaissances situées contribue à faire émerger des formes plus riches d’engagements au sujet des processus de transformation urbaine.

Infrastructural Baukultur is a research project led by the ALICE (EPFL) and OUVEMA (UNIL) laboratories, in partnership with l’Ouest Lausannois, focusing on the redefinition of cantonal roads as multimodal and landscape infrastructures—inclusive public spaces that encourage social and ecological interactions, as well as soft mobility. The research is currently focusing on Avenue du Tir-Fédéral and the cantonal road linking Saint-Sulpice to La Bourdonette.
This research is based on a contributive process in which researchers, professionals, and residents are invited to share their knowledge and experiences. Thus, we are looking for citizens who are motivated to take part in this process through go-along interviews (date of your choice), during which specific experiences can be shared, and through the workshops that will take place in March 2026, during which project ideas will be sketched out collectively.

Our contributive workshops are part of the co-design methodology developed by ALICE since 2012 and applied in the design and building of architectural and urban projects for public and private actors which have earned national and international recognition. Within our workshops, participants are invited to become co-researchers, in order to move from participation (passive) to contribution (active). By activating and jointly developing the citizens environmental know-hows, new and transdisciplinary site-specific and actionable knowledge emerges to foster richer forms of social engagement in processes of urban transformation.
